Kentucky KM-160 Series Standard A-model Mandolin Traditional Sunburst

The Kentucky KM-160 mandolin offers big, sweet tone and fast, easy playing action. The Kentucky KM-160 has a solid, hand-carved and graduated spruce top for the best tone and volume and solid, hand-carved flamed maple back and sides. Quick and accurate tuning is assured by the Kentucky mandolin's Gotoh tuners. The "Snakehead" rosewood peghead overlay is garnished with inlaid "Kentucky" script in pearl. Other features include a bound, rosewood fingerboard with distinctive
fingerboard extension design, F-Style sound holes, and a one-piece maple neck
with dovetail neck/body joint at the 15th fret. The result is a sweet, powerful

Lloyd A. Loar designed the Classic mandolins of the 1920's mandolins that set
the standard for everything else that has followed. Saga designed it's KM-300
series of Kentucky mandolins to incorporate many of the important features found
in the most expensive custom instruments. Every mandolin in this series features
the traditional "snake-head" design of Loar-era instruments and an
adjustable truss rod. The 22-fret bound rosewood fingerboard is just like the
vintage original as is the adjustable, compensated rosewood bridge which ensures
perfect intonation.
