Vintage Chef offers a large variety of antique food and nutmeg
graters. Tin graters are a collectable that comes in an endless variety and
range from simple and functional to elaborate designs. Our offerings
include both the mass produced and individually made, one of a kind variety.

Nutmeg Grater
NM01A very attractive nutmeg grater with an elaborate
pressed tin design. This nutmeg grater has a nicely patinated
finish and is good a tight in it's construction. The 8 rayed star
sliding panel on the back of this grater still has a good solid
fit. Of English manufacture - circa 1900. |

A nice Edgar nutmeg grater in good
condition. Hinge assembly and lid are intact and the lid closes
nicely. There is a little spatter of paint around the hanging
hole. Overall this is a nice specimen. |

Nutmeg Grater
NM03A Kreamer nutmeg grater in good condition that still
retains much of it's tin plating. The hinge and lid are in good
condition and the lid on the nutmeg compartment seals very
nicely. This nice grater has no dings or dents and
would make a very nice addition to any collection. |

A coffin style nutmeg grater with remnants of it's original Japanned
finish. The lid and hinge on the grater are intact and the lid
closes tightly on the nutmeg compartment. Even the hanging wire is
intact and unbent. This nutmeg grater comes complete with three nutmegs
in it's compartment. |

A nice nutmeg grater with much of it's original japanned finish
still intact. The hinge and lid assembly is in very good working
order and has a star embossed on the top of the lid. The tin
plating still has a nice shine for a grater this old. |

A very nice Boye Sanitary Nutmeg Grater made by the Boye Needle
company of Chicago, New York, and San Francisco. The nutmegs are
inserted into the spring loaded box which is then slid over the grating
surface. These are a hard to find item and would make a great
addition to any collection. |

A unique, dual purpose nutmeg and bread grater. This
specimen is hinged between the two different types of graters.
The hinge assembly is in excellent condition and allows the unit
to fold into itself to save space. The two different types of
graters are labeled "Nutmeg" and "Bread" to differentiate their
use. |

A one of a kind nutmeg grater with a long wooden handle.
This unique specimen has intricate punch work with even the sides folded
into the wooden handle. The grater is mounted to the handle with
one larger nail and four very small square headed nails on each
side. The nice cherry colored smooth patina makes this a very
attractive specimen. |

Vintage Grater - The Lightning Shredder GR20
A complete set including the handle in very good plus condition. This
shredder / grater is also known as the 3 in 1 and includes three
different shredding plates comprised of a fine grating surface, a medium
grating surface, a slicer and a very fine or nutmeg grating surface.
Each of the three interchangeable blades retain a bright tin finish and
measure 6 ¾” in length by 3 ½” in width. The overall length of the
bracket and handle is 12”. A great addition to any kitchenalia
collection. |

Antique Grater - Punched Tin With Wood Handle
GR18
An attractive smaller sized grater with a turned wood, black painted
handle. This grater still retains much of it's bright tin finish and
displays very well. Measuring 8 1/2" long by 3 1/2" wide. |

Antique Grater - Bromwell "Knuckle Duster"
GR19 "Bromwell's Greater-Grater - Easy to use - Grates Rapidly
- Safe and Sanitary For All Grating Purposes". The oval shaped grating
surface still has a brilliant shine. These are scarce in this good of a
condition. The length of this grater is 4" - width of 3" and a height of
2¼". |

Antique Grater - Bluffton Slaw Cutter
GR15
This is a "Bluffton Slaw Cutter", of Bluffton, OH. The script on this
specimen states - "Bluffton Slaw Cutter - Hold the fingers so they will
not come in contact with the knives, after sliced down, press down with
the palm of the hand until all is sliced - Patented Bluffton, OH". This
cutter measures 13" long by 4 1/4 wide and still may be used for it's
original utilitarian purpose. This cutter was one of the originals
manufactured before improvements were made in the 1920's. |

Antique Grater - Combination Grater

This is a circa 1940 - 1950 Grater that is unmarked as to the
manufacturer. It measures 11" long by 4 1/4" wide with 3 cutting
surfaces. |

Antique Grater - The "All In One"
GR14
A grater made by American, the "All In One", and shown in "300 Years of
Kitchen Collectibles". Made of tin and wire, this grater has 3 grating
surfaces as well as a slicer. It measures 10 5/8" long by 4 1/4 wide. C.

Antique Grater - Bluffton Slaw Cutter
GR16
A Bluffton, "Rapid Slaw and Vegetable Cutter". The script on this
specimen states "Rapid Slaw and Vegetable Cutter - Hold fingers so as
not to come in contact with knives when slicing a small article, press
down with palm of hand, Patented". This 13" long and 4 1/4" wide
grater/cutter is also marked with the original price of a mere 50 cents.

Antique Grater - Fels Naptha Soap GR17 A nice vintage grater
advertising Fels Naptha Soap. This wire and tin grater still retains
much of it's bright tin finish and measures 9" long by 4" wide. A great
wall hanger as well as an interesting advertising collectible.
